Poster analysis Part two
This poster isn’t too overbearing in terms of imaging, which draws attention to the title and the dynamic which it creates. The genre is immediately apparent from the weather depicted in it as well as the font. It has one main cover image which again focuses attention upon It and adds to the image of being ‘alone in the hard time.’ The image angle of being behind the character in the image further presents the idea of loneliness, isolation and of the style of the documentary in us ‘witnessing’ darkness from afar.
The font appearing morbid and somewhat harshly jagged, has
the effect of not only setting the tone for the film but also conveying how the
person featuring feels, adding to this presentation of the darkness felt.
A target audience would likely involve those interested in
autobiographies or themes which would likely spark emotion or darker
circumstances. Those who might be primary target audiences would consist
primarily of those curious of other’s experiences. A secondary target audience
would likely be those who see it commended positively by the reviewers.
With its ratings and commendations, it would also likely
appeal: they are evident and clear and placed above even the title, which may
draw the eye to them, as they are clear and promote the documentary.
